I am happy to state that TSPSC, on reaching 3 years mile stone in its journey is today reckoned as one of the most progressive State PSCs in the country and has reached a stage where other PSCs are looking towards TSPSC for assistance and advise in the matters of adopting technology for recruitment. Universally reform and innovation are a continuous process and the Commission all through these three years continued its pursuit to bring in more reforms and transparency in its functioning.
The completion of three years tenure as Chairman of TSPSC is an occasion to review our work, reflect on our achievements, to acknowledge the good work done and to get prepared to face the future challenges to make TSPSC as one of the best PSCs in the country. When I assumed office as Chairman, TSPSC, there was only skeletal staff, inadequate office space, no infrastructure and the task of developing systems, modernizing them and transforming the fledgling Public Service Commission into a responsive, innovative and productive entity was truly an arduous task.
Government of Telangana has enlarged the scope of recruitments in TSPSC by bringing under its fold a large of number of recruitments under Local bodies, Corporations, Boards, PSUs, Societies etc which vacancies were hitherto being filled up by these organizations and institutions themselves. Particularly in the recent past a large number of posts under notified under Gurukul Societies, Teacher posts under Teachers Recruitment Test, Agriculture Department, Forest Department, Medical & Health Department etc, which were brought under the purview of TSPSC for the first time.
TSPSC has issued 75 Notifications for 29633 vacancies, 5932 vacancies are already filled up. Results for 23906 vacancies is under process viz., Certification verification is being held for 8657 posts, Objections on keys are being received for 3226 posts, main exam date to be announced for 1100, applications are being received for 10357 and application scrutiny under way for 566 vacancies. 4118 vacancies are under process for notification.
It is a coincidence that TSPSC is issuing its 100th Notification at the time when 3 years are completed. Out of these 100 Notifications, TSPSC has issued 75 notifications for around 30,000 direct recruitment vacancies and 23 Notifications issued for Departmental Exams, Half Yearly, CAS and RIMC Examinations. Further various notifications for 4000 vacancies are under process. TSPSC One Time Registration was huge success, which is evident from the fact that a large number of registrations. As on 01.12.2017, around 18.64 lakh candidates already registered in TSPSC OTR as on 5th December, 2017.
TSPSC with its unmatched quest for excellence has been introducing a lot of reforms into its functioning like use of drones in capturing the conduct of Physical Tests on the ground, conduct of Department of Exams under CC Cameras on pilot basis, for the first time using Personality Assessor in interview board to assess the personality traits of the candidates etc.
I am happy to inform that the IT and ITES systems of TSPSC are further strengthened by Government of Telangana by sanctioning required budget for automation and development of exclusive IT centre and e-governance system for TSPSC. TSPSC has initiated the process of developing the “Smart Office System” to computerize all its functional modules, which will be more transparent, responsive and accountable and which will further speed up the recruitment process.
On this occasion when we usher into a New Year, I hope in the new year TSPSC will select a large number of talented Telangana youth for various government jobs and the aspirations of the unemployed youth are fulfilled.
I wish you all a very Happy New Year 2018.
